Celebrate a milestone as Mercury launches its 25th season with a captivating performance at Miller Outdoor Theatre. This free concert invites the Houston community to experience the joy of live music while honoring their support over the last 25 years.
Handel’s Water Music, composed in 1717 for King George I of England, has enchanted audiences for centuries and remains one of the most popular pieces of the Baroque repertoire. Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, equally as recognizable, celebrates the 300th anniversary of its publication in 2025. To commemorate this special occasion, the program will conclude with an exhilarating finale of Summer.
Under the direction of Maestro Antoine Plante, Mercury’s musicians will perform on period instruments, authentically recreating the sounds of Handel and Vivaldi’s time. Joined by expert Baroque musicians from across the country, the ensemble offers a historically inspired performance that brings these timeless works to life.
Mercury Chamber Orchestra is a groundbreaking chamber ensemble that seeks to redefine the orchestra with performances that faithfully present the music of great composers in settings that make audience members an equal part of the experience—not simply a spectator.
