Only a city as rich in music as Nashville could give birth to a band like the SteelDrivers - a group of seasoned veterans who are each distinguished in his or her own right, each valued in the town’s commercial community – who are seizing an opportunity to follow their hearts to their souls’ reward.

In doing so, they are braiding their bluegrass roots with new threads of their own design, bringing together country, soul, and other contemporary influences to create an unapologetic hybrid that is old as the hills but fresh as the morning dew.  This is new music with the old feeling. SteelDrivers fan Vince Gill describes the band’s fusion as simply “an incredible combination.”

The Abrams Brothers – John, James and cousin Elijah – are fourth-generation musicians with musical roots reaching back to their great-grandparents. And despite their age, veteran is certainly not a word out of reach given their credits. They’ve been touring together for almost a decade – and in the past few years, have become Canadian festival favorites.

With the release of their most recent album Northern Redemption, The Abrams Brothers make a transition from the music of their roots to their own distinct sound. It’s a combination of bluegrass, country and folk-rock that’s had the Canadian festival circuit up in arms over their potential, and the rest are sure to catch on.

This is a ticketed event for the covered seating area. Free tickets are available (4 per person over age 16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance between the hours of 10:30am-1pm. If tickets remain at 1pm, the box office will re-open one hour before show time to distribute the remaining tickets. As always, open seating on the hill.
