From one of the most beloved American films to a masterpiece of film noir to a classic morality play on greed, Movies at Miller presents three nights of classics starring Humphrey Bogart.

The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is a superior morality play and one of the best movie treatments of the corrosiveness of greed.

Three penniless prospectors (Humphrey Bogart, Tim Holt, Walter Huston), expatriates in Mexico, strike it rich in the Sierra Madre. Instead of splitting their treasure amicably, the trio spirals into a cycle of paranoia and deceit.

Humphrey Bogart, as Fred C. Dobbs, changes from a likeable drifter into a man capable of killing his best friend in cold blood. Director John Huston’s father, Walter, won an Academy Award® for Best Supporting Actor.
