The opening of its 25th Anniversary Season, Foundation for Modern Music (FMM) launches Music that should be danced: World Edition at Miller Theater.

With performances to live and/or recorded music, Music that Should be Danced Salsa salutes the intimate relation that exists between music and dance.

With special guest host, Debra Duncan, and performances by: Anjali Center for Performing Arts, Paul Boyd (piano), DANMAR Academy of Performing Arts, Exclamation Dance Company, Amira’s Oasis Middle Eastern Ensemble, Shaolin Kung Fu Academy, Vincent James (dancer), Timo Lozano and Compas, Raul Orlando Edwards (baritone/dancer), and others.

This inaugural concert also features a special cameo performance by “The Lily Choir” from China arriving in Houston after their performance at the prestigious Washington D.C. Kennedy Center.

The evening is dedicated to the late Deborah Quanaim, former faculty member at Houston Community College Central, and avid advocate of World Dance.

This is a ticketed event for the covered seating area. Free tickets are available (4 per person over age 16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance between the hours of 10:30am-1pm. If tickets remain at 1pm, the box office will re-open one hour before show time to distribute the remaining tickets. As always, open seating on the hill.
