Micky and the Motorcars, with their own band of Americana rock, bring an optimism and integrity a band only acquires when its been performing so long the only thing left to tell is the truth.

Eight years and five albums after MMC was founded in Challis, Idaho, the band still writes more than 90 percent of its music as it defines the lives of brothers Micky Braun (vocals, acoustic guitar) Gary Braun (vocals, guitars, mandolin, harmonica) childhood friend Mark McCoy (bass), Kris Farrow (guitars, saxophone) and Shane Vannerson (drums, percussion).

So far, it has. MMC has come a long way from playing for free and sleeping on random floors and couches to its most recent debut, “Micky and the Motorcars Live at Billy Bob’s Texas” and adding the three-disc (two CDs and one DVD) compilation to its discography.

This is a ticketed event for the covered seating area. Free tickets are available (4 per person over age 16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance between the hours of 10:30am-1pm. If tickets remain at 1pm, the box office will re-open one hour before show time to distribute the remaining tickets. As always, open seating on the hill.

“A Place To Shine” may have many different meanings, but for BNA Records newcomers The Lunabelles, it not only means the title of their shimmering debut single, but also Nashville, TN, and a career in country music built on years of dreams, preparation, and hard work, on stage and on the road.

The Lunabelles are an all-female band consisting of sisters Olivia (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Dominique (piano, mandolin, vocals), and Gabby Arciero (drums, percussion, vocals) – and Alex Kline (lead guitar, banjitar, dobro, mandolin, peddle steel).

The heart of The Lunabelles’ sound is built around the core elements of tight harmonies, musicianship, and years of live performance experience, drawing on such influences as Diamond Rio, The Judds and Alison Krauss.
